I’m finally back!!!! Yes, I know it’s been waaay to long since I’ve written anything decent. I’ve been a little busy lately and to be honest, a little lacking in the motivation area to write. Although, I think it’s been the same way for a few of my peers as well. (you know who you are people)

My life lately doesn’t seem like it belongs to me. We all know that I love to travel. Maybe you don’t, at least I know I love to travel and discover new places and experience new cultures. I just didn’t think I would be able to do it as much as I have been lately. Oh, such a tough life I lead.

Within the last 2 months I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to Rome, Italy (twice, did I mention that I’ve been here 2x in the last 2 months?) Yeah, it’s been kind of an out of body experience for me. I would have never thought that in a million years I would go there twice.

Since I’ve been to Roma, I have experienced all the places I’ve only dreamt about and seen in my art history books. The Pantheon, Colosseum, St. Peter’s just to name a few. Along with experiencing these historical places, I also got a little taste of their food, and a little glimpse of what life of a Roman is like. Let me tell you, they’re proud proud people ( I really think that’s an understatement), knowledgeable of their history, and they love to mangia mangia. I swear, I don’t know where they put it all.

The city is always busy. People are always polite with salutations and they never leave without saying goodbye. Next to my first wish of being able to teleport myself, my second would be to be able to speak any language. That would have alleviated me from the headache of trying to communicate with the family I was staying with and fumbling through a dictionary when playing charades just didn’t cut it anymore. I couldn’t understand what anyone was saying and most of the time, I would just sit there and be quiet and listen. I guess not such a bad thing since I babble all the time in the U.S.

I was so fortunate to have such an awesome tour guide. I swear this boy must have a history book locked up in that brain of his. He knew almost every detail to every story of Rome which made visiting the sites more fascinating because of all the background he knew.

I honestly never thought Italy would be a place I wanted to come visit. It hasn’t really been on the top of my to see places. After the first trip out to Rome and seeing what I’ve seen and experiencing the culture, food and people. I would definitely want to come back and experience other parts of Italy. Anyone want to go?
